The Vintage Tea Room Review

If you know me then you know I like my food, from pizza to sandwiches so I jumped at the chance to go the Vintage Tea Room for afternoon cream tea.

The occasion was for a family members birthday so it was a nice treat for them for a Sunday afternoon.

I don’t know about any of you but I’ve never had cream tea before so I didn’t know what to expect when we arrived but I was pleasantly surprised.

We come to a quaint little tea shop in our town and step inside where im stunned by how it’s all set out.

The tables and chairs are all set out in lovely white linen table cloths with patterned tea cups and saucers that looked very fancy.

On the tables were two cake stands, the bottom shelve filled with sandwiches such as Cheese and Cucumber, Ham and Tuna & Sweetcorn.

The second tier was the scones with fresh cream and jam, which i’m not going to lie went rather quickly.

Finally the top tier was filled with chocolate cake and Victoria sponge.

The ladies working on the Sunday Nikki and Natasha brought some tea and coffee to the tables and left us all to us while checking up half through with a smile.

Fun was had by all

We ate and drink, chatting while the kids played and stuffed their face with cake and nothing was to much trouble.

It was time to leave after feeling full from all that cake and needing a piggy nap, I left with the feeling of that’s how cream tea is meant to be and I have no doubt I would soon be back for more.

Working with Mental Health is there a stigma?

Its been over 4 years now since I’ve been working and in a work/busy environment due to Mental Health.

4 years is a long time to be out of doing anything especially working and socializing with other adults.

I’ve worked my whole life, starting from working in a factory packing boxes to working hard to get to work in hotels and hospitals while achieving qualifications along the way.

So to suddenly stop all of that and be told I’m not able to work and not pluck up the courage or even be able to function in that type of environment again takes its toll on your mental health.

Recently after one of my Mental Health appointments I was told if I behave right then I would be able to go back to work which is fantastic news!

There is also a few problems with this…

  1. I’ve tried applying for jobs in the past and as soon as they see the title Personality Disorder which I legally have to tell them I have then suddenly its like alarms go off and they are no longer interested and see it as taking a big risk in employing someone like me.
  2. How will I react going back into not only a busy environment with lots of noise but with lots of people where I will have to interact as a daily task?

So this begs they questions how do I ease myself back into work?

Can I do it?

Am I strong enough as a person?

Id like to think so as I really would like some normality back into my life but im going to need some help along the way.

Christmas time is here

It’s that time of year again that a lot of us look forward to especially if you’re a kids and that’s Christmas time.

In every household its different some go over the top with celebrations, some don’t celebrate at all and some just stick to family traditions.

Now I understand Christmas isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but the build up to Christmas is just as big in our house hold and with that come with certain traditions we go by.

What kind of Christmas would it be with out some fun way to count down the day than with chocolate advent calendars.

We went with fairly simple plain chocolate ones this year because we found out the gift calendars wasn’t as exciting as we would have hoped for the little once.

But every morning they wake straight up and ask to open a door on the calendar which is always nice to watch.

Welcome to Christmas
Welcome to Christmas

1st December is always greeted with the arrival of the elf.

Now this is usually done with an evening buffet of in this case a morning buffet that he had arranged which was nice to wake up to.

We had crackers, hats, cereal bars, chocolate bread and juice…just what your kids need on a morning.

Although its nice to have the arrival of the Christmas Elf we as parents dread it because well he’s naughty.

Here he is Mistletoe the Elf.

Don’t be fooled he’s one naughty elf, I’ll give him his dues he’s not been to bad so far but already he’s stolen my advent Calender chocolate!!

Last year her put the kids shoes in the freezer and drew moustaches on the kids.

This elf thrives on naughtiness and I can imagine it will just get worse.
